Schutzhütte Hohehaus
Ein Kleinod der Dorfgemeinschaft von Hohehaus
Etwa 400 Meter vom Ortskern in einem kleinem Tal an der Mühlbache liegt sie malerisch von der Landschaft eingefasst.
Nach der Grundsteinlegung durch den „Stammtisch Mühlengrund“ im Jahr 1974 wurde der Mühlengrund immer weiter ausgebaut. Im Jahr 1976 kam das Tretbecken, welches durch den Mühlenbach gespeist wird, hinzu und 1977 wurden die Mühlsteine der alten Hohehäuser Wassermühle zu Tischen umgebaut. Die Schutzhütte selbst sowie das Toilettenhäuschen wurden 1982 mit Unterstützung der Stadt Marienmünster in Eigenleistung erbaut. Wasser und Strom rundeten im Jahr 1986 durch Unterstützung des Stromversorgers Pesag den Ausbau des Mühlengrundes ab.
1990 wurde der Weg zum Mühlengrund im Zuge der Separation neu geteert. Bei weiteren Ausbauten wurde 1993 der Parkplatz mit Rasengittersteinen versehen und die Sitzplätze neu Gruppiert. Anhand der hier eingestellten Bilder, kann man einen Eindruck über das heutige Aussehen sowie die Entstehung des Grillpltzes am Mühlengrund in Hohehaus gewinnen.
Durch ihre idyllische Lage sowie ihrer tollen Ausstattung ist sie an vielen Wochenenden Treffpunkt für Gäste aus nah und fern. Ein Höhepunkt im Winter mit genügend Schnee ist das von den Vereinen organisierte Schlittenfahren hier vor Ort. Schulen feiern hier ihr Sommerfest oder Schüler ihren Schulabschluss. Für Geburtstage, Betriebsfeste und andere Feierlichkeiten ist sie immer zu haben. Allerdings sollte man sich rechtzeitig vorher informieren, ob der gewünschte Termin noch zu vergeben ist.
